Hi friends,

 

The past four years have seen our family and friends journey with us as our dear boy, Xavier, has experienced the challenges that come from suffering the extremely rare Schwachman Diamond Syndrome. This year, I decided to challenge myself to run 5km in the Run 4 Kids as a way of giving back to the absolutely amazing RCH. I invited loved ones to come with me, and am delighted and humbled by those who have signed up for the kms and those who have donated to show their support. Team De Fazio and Friends has become an inspirational bunch including myself (Xavier's Mum), his Granny, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Together, we hope to raise some money for the RCH and raise awareness of Schwachman Diamond Syndrome. We are also supporting our dear friend Elly who was born with Talipes and Oliver who was born with a serious congenital heart condition. I'm sure there are other children that Team Members hold in their thoughts and hearts in preparation for this event. Whilst a few kms of huffing and puffing, tripping and giggling is certainly a challenge that we choose; it is insignificant in comparison to the lifelong challenges that some of our precious children are forced to endure.
